Hasland Community Speed watch Out and About on Operation Spotlight the 2nd National Speedwatch All Out Day 2026
Hasland Community Speedwatch Volunteers led by Amanda Serjeant Hasland Speedwatch Co-ordinator were out and about on National All Out Day which saw thousands of groups across the UK all-out on the same day. It was another hot day so everyone had their sun cream and hats at the ready! We were on Hasland Road joined by one of Hasland Safer Neighbourhoods Team PCSO Suzanne Gouldsbrough
During the event, trained volunteers use handheld speed detection devices in 30mph or 40mph zones to track vehicles. Registration details of speeding vehicles are recorded and sent to the police, who then mail warning letters to the registered keepers, detailing the risks of their dangerous driving. The primary goal is to educate motorists, deter speeding in residential areas, and build safer communities.
Amanda Serjeant Co-ordinator said "During the hour we saw over 300 cars and recorded 3 exceeding the 30mph Speed Limit. Road safety is an issue the Hasland Community consistently raise and Hasland Speedwatch are proud to play our part in reducing the numbers of people killed and seriously injured on our roads every year and raising awareness".
Could you Volunteer for Hasland Speedwatch? Each session lasts just 1 hour and we go out once a month on different days and times. If you're interested in getting involved, please feel free to reply to this message.
Many thanks.
